Your privacy is critically important to us. It is AustrianStartups c/o Impact Hub Vienna’s and respACT-austrian business council for sustainable development‘s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website. This Privacy Policy applies to https://circle17.at and both organisations, AustrianStartups and respACT (hereinafter, “us”, “we”, or “https://circle17.at”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personally identifiable information you may provide us through the Website. We have adopted this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to explain what information may be collected on our Website and during our project, how we use this information, and under what circumstances we may disclose the information to third parties.

This Privacy Policy set forth the general rules and policies governing your use of our Website and your interaction with the circle17-team.

1 What Information we Collect

1.1. Non-Personally Identifiable

Like most website operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). We collect such Log Data irrespective of whether you have registered for an account on our Site.

This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

1.2. Personally Identifiable Information

Most of our services do not require any form of registration, allowing you to visit our Site without telling us who you are.

However, circle17 collects potentially personally identifiable information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on https://circle17.at blog posts.

As soon as you choose to become part of circle17 we collect following personally identifiable information: First Name, Last Name, e-mail, telephone, field of expertise, Organization details (Name, Industry) and type of involvement at circle17.

When attending one of our events and registering via Eventbrite or Airtable, we collect your Name, Company, and the Event Name and transfer it via Zapier to our CRM Management system Agile CRM (see 4.2.)

When registering for our events via Eventbrite or Airtable we may also collect informations such as your company-related informations, such as size, your business model, pitch decks, your logo and preferred interaction within circle17.

2 How we Collect your Data

2.1. When Accessing the Website

When accessing our Site, your Log Data will be collected automatically. Apart from that, all other information is collected on the basis on the information that you enter on our Site.

2.2. When Interacting with the circle17-Team

When interacting with the circle17-Team your contact details are collected with the service provider AgileCRM (more info see 4.2.).

3  How we Use your Information

We use the information that we collect

  • to allow us to offer and provide our services,
  • to operate and maintain our site,
  • to send you marketing communication,
  • to respond to your questions and concerns,
  • to allow us to perform contracts we have signed with our customers, suppliers or partners,
  • to allow contract management, e.g. to address our invoices to our customers,
  • to enhance our services and the use of them,
  • to perform research and analysis relating to our services,
  • to perform tracking of the use of our services,
  • to conduct market surveys.

4 How we Share your Information

4.1. When Accessing our Website

Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Cookies are used for this purpose, which enable an analysis of the use of the website by your users. The information thus generated is transferred to the provider’s server and stored there.

We have concluded a corresponding contract with the provider for order data processing. The data processing is based on the legal provisions of § 96 para. 3 TKG and Art 6 para. 1 lit a (consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of the DSGVO. Our concern within the meaning of the DSGVO (justified interest) is the improvement of our offer and our web presence. Since the privacy of our users is important to us, the user data is pseudonymised.

In connection with Google Analytics we use a Plugin by MonsterInsights, to process the data better. MonsterInsights Google Analytics application uses the Google Analytics Reporting API to gather analytics. The provider is MonsterInsights, LLC. From time to time, we may release aggregated non-personally-identifying information, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

We only disclose logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally identifiable information as described below.

Any personally identifiable information you elect to make publicly available on our Sites or Social Media Pages, such as posting comments on our blog page, will be available to others. If you remove information that you have made public on our site, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of our site or if other users saved that information

4.2. When Interacting with the circle17-Team

Due to the nature of cooperation between AustrianStartups and respACT the personal identifiable details of circle17 participants, partners, sponsors, and speakers is shared among the two organisations respACT and AustrianStartups collectively in a CRM tool. The two organisations commit to use these contact details solely for the purpose of the the project and will not share them with a third party except the organization providing us the CRM tool. We do not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others.

The personal identifiable details are processed by the CRM Tool Agile CRM Inc., 25 First Street, 2nd Floor, Cambridge, MA 02141. The data processing of our CRM Tool Agile CRM is based on the legal provisions of § 96 §3 TKG and Art 6 §1 lit a (consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. With its data processor located in Europe, the service provider promises full GDPR compliancy. Our concern within the meaning of the GDPR (justified interest) is the improvement of our offer and our web presence. If you do not agree with that, please let us know, we will then remove all the data we have about you from our database.

For the integration of different databases and web tools we use Zapier, a service of Zapier Inc, 548 Market St #62411, San Francisco, California 94104, USA. When using Zapier, data is transferred to the USA, which is generally considered a third country with an uncertain level of data protection in the GDPR. Zapier’s Services are fully GDPR-compliant and we singned a data processing agreement with Zapier for order processing pursuant to Art. 28 DSGVO.

As noted before we use Airtable for event purposes, a service of Formagrid, Inc. with a place of business at 799 Market St, Floor 8, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. When using Airtable, data is transferred to the USA, which is generally considered a third country with an uncertain level of data protection in the GDPR. Because such processing may, from time to time, involve the transfer of Personal Data from the European Union to the United States, we and Airtable have agreed to sign and execute a Data Processing Addendum (“DPA”) in order to ensure that adequate safeguards are established with respect to the protection of Personal Data.

4.3. Cookies

To enrich and perfect your online experience, we use “Cookies”, similar technologies and services provided by others to display personalized content, appropriate advertising and store your preferences on your computer.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. www.circle17.at uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of https://circle17.at, and their website access preferences. We check links that leave our website editorially very carefully. Nevertheless, we assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the content of pages linked to from circle17.

Our Service may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products or services.

 4.5. Social Plugins

This website uses social plugins from the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are done with a Facebook logo or the addition “Facebook Social Plugin”.

If you have a website that calls up a plugin, your browser will connect to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is routed from Facebook directly to your browser via the controller and from there in the website.

By integrating the plugins, Facebook removes the information that their IP address has led our website to our website. If you are dismissed from Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit ordered to your Facebook account. If you work with the plugins, for example by pressing the “Check me” button or making a comment, the information from the owner browser will be heard and heard directly on a Facebook page.

  • In case of a material breach of any of the controls above we will make sure that you are notified immediately.

 Austrianstartups e.V. and respACT are located in Austria. Transfers to data processors based outside of the EU, such as for example AgileCRM or Eventbrite will be protected by appropriate safeguards, namely the use of standard data protection clauses adopted or approved by the European Commission (a copy of which can be obtained from the Site of the European Union Law).

6. Your Rights

Under the applicable law, you are entitled, among other things

(i) to check whether and which personal data we have stored about you and to receive copies of such data

(ii) to request the restriction of the processing of their personal data. This will particularly help us to avoid contacting you in the future.

(iii) to demand the correction, completion or deletion of your personal data which is incorrect or not processed in accordance with the law. Your data can only be resolved once the statutory tax retention periods have expired. In addition, if your data is deleted, it is not possible to prevent us from contacting you again in the future.

(iv) You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data for the purposes of direct advertising/donation advertising. If processing is based on your consent, you may revoke this consent at any time.

(v) In addition, for the purposes of data transferability, you have the right to receive the data you have provided us with in a structured, common and machine-readable format or, if technically possible, to request that it be transferred to another responsible party.
